Update from Gilbert
Everything has been going very well. I really enjoyed getting to spend a few days at home with my family for Thanksgiving. I was glad to get the chance to go hunting and kill a doe.
Since being back at college, things have gotten right back on schedule. Work is going well. We are preparing for finals, which will start on Wednesday.
Yesterday during the morning church service, I sat beside Amir, a boy whom I led to the Lord a few weeks ago. While Pastor Cavanaugh was preaching, Amir began to ask me some really good questions. One of the questions he asked was, “Why is everyone saying ‘Amen’?” I told him, “When someone says ‘Amen,’ it means that the preacher is right and that you agree with the truth the pastor has spoken.” As soon as I said this, Amir completely understood. To my surprise, not too long after I had told him, he began saying “Amen!” during the preaching! The amazing thing is that on Saturday night I had prayed with someone who works on Amir’s bus. His older sister had gotten saved on Saturday, and I prayed that God would allow both Amir and his sister to grow spiritually. It was such an amazing answer to prayer to hear him start saying “Amen” and asking some really great questions! I am truly looking forward to seeing Amir grow in faith, and maybe one day God will call him to Providence and allow him to work in the ministry some day in the future.
Please pray for the upcoming final exams. The semester ends on December 19. Pray also as I will be leaving on December 20 with a group from the college for a missions trip to Mexico. I will return on January 2 and report back to work on January 6.
