Safely in Accra

Danny took me to the Houston airport yesterday afternoon. I got all checked in and waited at my gate. I flew from Houston to Miami. The flight was a little rough due to the weather, but we made it safely.

From Miami, I flew on a big A380-300 to London. When I got my bags for inspection in London, the machine broke with my bags inside. After they got that squared away, a child standing by me spilled her drink all over me and soaked my passport. My boarding pass was ruined. Passport control was upset. I had to go to a ticket counter to get a new boarding pass.

Then, I had to go through another security checkpoint to enter the waiting room for the flight to Accra. The flight was delayed about 45 minutes. Once you have entered that room, they really don’t want you to leave. So, I just waited.

I arrived in Accra about 9:00 P.M. (which was 3:00 P.M. Texas time). One of my checked bags came out. Then, I waited quite a while for the second bag. They said it was on the other side of the plane.

One of the bags contained some car parts (hoses and clamps) for one of the missionaries here. They said they were going to charge duty, but they settled for a few candy bars.

I took a taxi to a hotel. They have different hosts that are in charge of different rooms. So, I had to wait for my host to come to take me to my room. I got settled in my room close to midnight. I am now headed to bed. Bro. Ruckman will meet me here in the morning. Then, we will both fly to Takoradi tomorrow afternoon.

We have a busy schedule planned with different services every night. Thank you for your continued prayers.
