Discover Mission Trips to Africa With the Consfords
If you’ve ever wanted to go on a mission trip that makes a lasting impact — both on the people you serve and on your own heart — this is your chance. The Consford family is excited to offer mission trips to Africa, designed to introduce young people to international missions and strengthen the hands of the missionaries we support.
This page will be your central hub for trip updates, applications, and information about future opportunities to join us on the field. When trips are scheduled, this is where you’ll find all the details and where you’ll be able to apply for a spot.

Why Africa? Why Now?
Africa is a continent rich in culture, community, and spiritual hunger. From vibrant cities to remote villages, there is an open door for the gospel and a great need for laborers to serve. We’ve seen firsthand the work being done through our missionary partners — especially through the Hope of Africa Baptist Ministry in Takoradi, Ghana.
These mission trips aren’t just about seeing another part of the world. They’re about:
- Encouraging full-time missionaries through hands-on help
- Introducing young people to missions in a real-world context
- Spreading the gospel in both word and deed
- Growing your faith as you step out of your comfort zone
How to Apply for a Mission Trip to Africa
When trips are scheduled, an application link will appear on this page. We aim to keep group sizes small and focused, ensuring a meaningful and safe experience for everyone involved. Here’s what you’ll need to apply:
📝 Application Requirements:
- Age 16+ (minors must have a parent or legal guardian on the trip)
- Active involvement in a local church
- Pastoral recommendation
- Personal testimony of salvation
- Willingness to serve with a good attitude
- Fundraising and trip payment commitment
- Valid passport (must not expire within 6 months of travel)
If you’re accepted, we’ll guide you through the process of preparing for the trip — including team meetings, fundraising help, and cultural orientation.
What to Expect on an African Mission Trip
These aren’t just sightseeing tours — they’re immersive experiences where you’ll roll up your sleeves and get to work, while growing in your faith.
✈️ Sample Trip Activities:
- Assisting in church planting ministries
- Helping with children’s Bible clubs and evangelistic outreach
- Visiting local homes and sharing testimonies
- Delivering supplies or Bibles
- Supporting the missionaries with practical needs
We partner closely with veteran missionaries on the ground who know the people, language, and culture. You’ll never be sent out alone or unprepared. Safety and spiritual growth are our top priorities.
Encouraging the Missionaries
One of the greatest blessings we can offer is simply being present. Missionaries often feel isolated and overwhelmed — a visit from a mission team can be the spiritual refreshment they need. We come not just to serve, but to encourage.
Our visits are planned in coordination with missionaries like James and Samantha Ruckman at Hope of Africa Baptist Ministry. Their work in Ghana is a shining example of what God is doing through faithful gospel labor.

A Life-Changing Opportunity for Young People
There’s something powerful about seeing the needs of others up close. For many teens and young adults, these trips are a turning point — a time when God calls them to serve, to give, or to pray more passionately for world missions.
If you’re a young person considering a life of ministry or missions, this is your chance to:
- Step away from distractions
- See God work in a different culture
- Build a burden for the lost
- Learn from seasoned missionaries
And let’s be honest: it’s also an unforgettable adventure.
