We started off the day with chocolate chip banana muffins. They were so good!!! After breakfast, we all got ready to go to church. We left the house around 8:30 A.M. to get to church. When we arrived at church, there were kids running everywhere. It is a blessing to see kids who are so excited to come to church. We started the Sunday school hour at 9:00. I got to take some pictures of the kids, who were having Sunday school for the first time in the newly refurbished class room. These rooms will also be used for Bible Institute.
After the Sunday school hour, all the classes came back together, and we sang a few songs.
Once we had finished singing, all the kids split up and went to their separate Junior church classes. I was able to get a few more pictures of the class rooms, which were very full.
After the service, we took a group photo with the church. Once we had finished with the group photo, we had three girls baptized. There were kids everywhere.
The entire time the girls were being baptized, it was raining. So we were all wet by the time the baptisms were over. If you would like to watch the baptisms, just watch this video.
Since we were wet already, some of the kids wanted to swim in the baptistry. After the baptisms, we headed toward the house. Once we arrived at home, we had a few minutes of rest before Mrs. Sally came with a full Ghanaian meal to feed everyone. Mrs. Sally filled our plates, but I wasn’t able to finish it all:)!!! The food was so good, especially the kelewele (fried plantain with seasonings). We had cabbage stew with chicken, beef stew, jolof rice, kelewele, and white rice as well as soboto, a drink made from hibiscus and ginger. After we had finished the meal, we all sat and fellowshipped with Pastor Dare, Mrs. Sally, and their family. After the meal and fellowship, I took a much needed nap:)!!!
After my nap, I got up and got ready for the evening service. This morning, we went to Bro. Ruckman’s church, but this evening we went to Pastor Dare’s church. My dad preached both the morning and the evening service. Both sermons were phenomenal.
Now we are at home getting ready to have some supper. Then, we will probably fellowship for a while, and then it will be off to bed. We are going to the ocean tomorrow; so, I will definitely need to get my rest in.
