We left the house at 8:00 AM to head to the Houston airport. About thirty minutes from home, we had a flat tire. The spare tire was on a cable underneath the car. It took longer to figure out how to unlatch the spare tire than it did to actually change it. Joe, Gilbert, and Danny were all a bit dirty after changing the tire. We stopped at a dollar store, and they got freshened up the best that they could. We got a notification saying that our flight had been delayed thirty minutes, which was about how long it took to change the tire. We made it safely to the airport. Joe’s sisters Mandy and Lori rode with us so that they could take the vehicle home. We pulled a trailer with all of the luggage.
We got checked in and went to our gate without incident. We walked to a different terminal to find a food court, ate lunch, and then went back to our gate. Boarding was delayed a little, but then we were on our way.
Flying Turkish Airlines was a first for us. Everything went very smoothly. On our first flight to Istanbul, one of the passengers had a little dog that kept barking. It was a nice modern aircraft and the seats were nice a spacious.
