Early Morning Start and Wedding Preparations

This morning, I woke up at 6:00. I read my Bible and got ready for the day. We had a quick breakfast and were out the door by 6:45 A.M. When we left the house, we drove to a gas station where we picked up Kojo and Regina. This is the couple who we were taking to the courthouse to make their wedding legal. We were able to pick them up at 7:15 A.M., and we made it to the courthouse with no problems. Once we got there, we went through the process and were able to get in line for the wedding. We sat outside for thirty to forty-five minutes under a tent until we were called into the courtroom.

It was a really neat experience. The security guard informed the photographers on where and when we could take pictures. There was a wedding before us, and they had a photographer; so that really helped me see how things were done. The only thing we were not allowed to take pictures of was the magistrate, the judge. It was a lady, but she performed the wedding with professionalism. I really enjoyed getting to photograph my first wedding. 🙂

After the wedding, I took a few more pictures; then, we took the newlyweds home. Bro. Ruckman informed Kojo that he needed to carry Regina through the door because that is what we do in America. They both laughed. Once we had dropped them off, we stopped at the church, then headed home.

We had a little bit of time at the house; but after we had eaten lunch, we were back at it. Bro. Ruckman and I picked up Samuel and Annet, the couple getting married on Saturday, and headed to a different courthouse. We needed to get the necessary paper work to make their wedding official. Once we got to the courthouse, we found the office and began talking with the people about the paperwork. We ended up organizing everything to where the people from the courthouse are going to come to the wedding with the proper forms to make the wedding official.

Once we had finished there, we all went back to the house. They picked up Mrs. Angie and left me so that they could go to the church where the decorator was going to begin with the decorating. 🙂 They were gone for a little over an hour. Then, Mrs. Angie and I switched places; this time she stayed home while I rode with everyone. We went to the grocery store, picked up Bro. Ruckman’s newly hemmed pants, and went back to the church where the decorating had begun.

After we checked up on the decorating, we took Samuel, or Sammy as everyone calls him, and Annet to the place they desired to be dropped off. Once we had dropped them off, we headed home. We were all able to relax after a very busy morning and afternoon.

Once we had all relaxed for a while, I started noticing the sky was turning an orangish color. I thought that maybe the rain was just making the sun make some funny colors. Well, the sky remained orange for a little while; so I decided I would go up to my room and watch the sunset from my balcony.

Beautiful Sunset

When I got up there, I was shocked; there was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen occurring, and I had not even realized. I quickly got my camera ready after running all over the house to get my stuff because I had been editing pictures earlier in the day. After getting everything going very quickly with not a moment to lose, I immediately began taking pictures. The pictures turned out much better than I could have imagined. There is little to no editing that can be done to make the pictures look any better.

Once I had finished photographing the sunset, I went down for supper. Bro. Ruckman had grilled burgers, and Mrs. Angie had prepared French fries and had cut up fresh veggies for the burgers. Everything was delicious.

Once we had finished eating, we tried to watch something but had issues with the internet. Mrs. Angie gave up and went to bed. 🙂 Now, Bro. Ruckman and I are watching it as I type the blog. Tomorrow is going to be another busy day of wedding preparations. Please pray that all the preparations are completed and that the wedding is very special.
