Day #1 of Missions Conference

This morning, I read my Bible, got ready for church, and then went down for breakfast. Mrs. Angie had banana muffins ready. They were so good. We left for church at 8:30 A.M. We had a great Sunday school and morning service preached by Pastor Miguel Triano. We did have problems with the microphones because they were both dead, but overall the services were great.

After the service, Bro. Ruckman had a quick meeting with several of the men and women from the church. We are planning a banquet after next Sunday morning’s service. We are celebrating the one year anniversary of the church being recharged as Mt. Calvary Fundamental Baptist Church. Once we had the quick meeting, we headed home.

When we got home, Mrs. Angie and Mrs. Triano got started on lunch. Bro. Ruckman grilled burgers while they worked on the side dishes. We were able to have a good lunch and fellowship. After lunch, Bro. Triano, Bro. Ruckman, and I went to Pastor Dare’s church. Bro. Triano had never been to his church; so, he really wanted to see it. I took my drone along because I had already seen it but had never seen it from the bird’s perspective. I got everything set up and was ready to take off, but it would not let me because we were within five miles of the Takoradi Airport. I guess I will not be doing any flying at his church. Once Bro. Triano had finished his tour, we headed home.

When we got home, I saw that there was a storm heading our way. I decided to take the drone up and fly towards the storm. I was able to fly around for a good while, but I started getting a little nervous because it looked like the storm was moving fast toward my drone. I was able to get a quick panoramic image of the storm; then, I quickly flew the drone home. Once I got it back home, I edited some of the pictures and did a few things on my computer. By the time I was finished with all that, I was ready for a quick nap. I then got ready for church, and we were out the door by 5:30 or so.

On our way to church, I saw that there was a really pretty sunset forming; but by the time we got to church and I had the drone in the air, the sunset was almost over. It is okay; there will always be another sunset.

We got the church service started promptly at 6:00 P.M. Pastor Prince brought his church in his taxi; there were people piled everywhere. Once we had sang a few songs, watched a few missions videos, sang a few more songs, and then Bro. Triano preached. It was another great message. He used me as an example for a couple different things. His illustrations are really clear, and it really shows the people and myself what he is really trying to say. We had a great service, and God really spoke in hearts. Also, the microphone worked perfectly throughout the entire evening service.

After the service, I flew my drone for a few minutes. There was a big crowd gathered around me. We had a good time. After we finished up at the church, we headed home. Mrs. Angie and Mrs. Triano prepared a very good Mexican meal. Everything was delicious; we had home made tortillas, guacamole, and salsa; of course, we had the meat and cheese to go along with it.

Once we had finished supper, Mrs. Angie started washing the dishes. While she was washing the dishes, the water pump stopped working. We tried reseting it, but nothing worked. We even tried the dad trick, which is to bang on the pump with a wrench. That did not work either. Bro. Ruckman is going to have the plumber come by in the morning; but in the meantime, we are taking bucket baths.

Once I finished my bucket bath, I started typing the blog for the day. There is a lot to say, but I am almost done. It is currently 11:41 P.M.; so, I think that wraps up about everything for the day. I am looking forward to the rest of the missions conference, and having a nice, hot, running-water shower.

One response to “Day #1 of Missions Conference”

  1. I hope the pump is fixed soon. I know very well the woes of water problems. We rarely had electricity problems, but the water problem is another story. It would be easier to count the days when the water was on for a whole 24 hours. When we brought Bradley home from the hospital, we didn’t have a single drop of running water in our house for 14 days. Fun times!
