This morning, I woke up to another year of life. I tuned 19 today. After waking up, I read my Bible and headed downstairs. Mrs. Angie prepared a delicious breakfast of Dutch pancakes, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
After breakfast, I worked on editing pictures from the wedding we attended. I have around 500 pictures to sort through, edit, and send to everyone who wants their pictures. After a good morning, we left the house at 12:30 to go out for lunch. We had a good time at Prospector’s Inn and enjoyed a delicious meal. I have been wanting to go to there for quite a while. When my parents were here back in August, we went there to see an old friend but found out that he had passed away. His wife is still running the hotel and restaurant. She was happy to see us today.
After lunch, we did some things around town. The Ruckmans bought me a painting, a shake, and ice cream from the grocery store. After a busy day out, it was nice to get back to the house. When we got back, I did some more editing and rested for a little while.
None of us were very hungry; so, we did not have supper. The Ruckmans had a meeting with some of the people from the church. In Ghana, it is a custom to get people wet on their birthday. As the people from the church were outside in the driveway preparing to leave, they asked me to pray. Just as I finished praying, a couple of guys poured water over my head.
Then, we had shakes instead of cake. 😋 After our shakes, we watched a show and then headed up to our rooms for the evening. I must have slept wrong or something because I have had a headache off and on all day. 😞 Maybe a good night’s rest will help.
Thank you for all of the birthday wishes. I had a great day. I have been opening birthday cards throughout the day. My family sent some things back with the Ruckmans, and my grandparents mailed a card here.

So glad you had a happy birthday. Sounds like a great day! I don’t think I would like to be doused with water! We were feeling better today. Will be praying for you.
HAPPY 19 GILBERT.
