An Early Start to a Long Day

This morning, I woke up at 6:55, read my Bible, and got ready to have a nice morning run. I do not run anywhere but around the house, but it is good to get my heart going. After I had run one mile, I felt really sick. I took a nice cool shower and felt much better after that.

I was able to study for a little while for Bible Institute tomorrow. More studying needs to be done, but at least I was able to get some in. After I had studied for a while, I worked on editing some pictures on my computer. I had been downstairs editing for about thirty minutes when Bro. and Mrs. Ruckman came down. Once they came down, we ate breakfast. We had English muffins and eggs again this morning; they were still amazing.

After we had eaten, I did some more studying and had a nice restful day. Bro. and Mrs. Ruckman went to the grocery store, but I decided to stay. When they got back, Mrs. Angie did some preparations for her institute classes tomorrow. Then, we ate lunch. After lunch, I watched a movie and took a rest.

Bro. Ruckman and I went to the church around 3:00 P.M. We wanted to check up on the painting, and the sound men were coming to finish installing everything. I wanted to be there to watch the sound men and have them teach me a few things about the sound board since I will be helping run it; I wanted to be familiar with it. The men and kids from the church got a lot of painting done since I left yesterday. I did not paint today because I did not want my sunburn to get any worse than it already is. They were able to paint the walls with the oil paint. The walls look amazing.

After I had finished up at the church, I went down the hill and caught a taxi. The taxi driver took me to the junction to the neighborhood where the house is, and I was able to walk the rest of the way to the house. I walked exactly half a mile and really enjoyed getting to walk outside of the walls around the house. ๐Ÿ™‚ Walking also saved me a good bit of money. Usually, if you have the driver take you all the way to the house, it costs around a dollar and fifty cents; but since I walked, it only cost me thirty cents. I think I will be walking a lot more often. ๐Ÿ™‚

When I got home, I sat around the house and practically did nothing for about an hour. Bro. Ruckman was working on his computer, and Mrs. Angie was working on her class notes for tomorrow’s English lesson. After a while, they began making supper. Bro. Ruckman grilled some chicken and potatoes that Mrs. Angie had cut up. Everything tasted delicious!!!

After supper, Bro. Ruckman, Bro. Shadrack, and I watched a missionary documentary. It was about West Africa, specifically Liberia. The documentary was really interesting and eye opening to some of the things that have gone on and are still going on here in Africa and around the world. After the movie, I went up to my room and did some studying; now, I am about to take a shower.

  1. Oh, boy! Walking outside the walls of the house is a big deal. The high walls are something I just could never adjust to in Guatemala. I’m glad you’re able to get out from behind them every now and then. ๐Ÿ˜Š
