A Day of Preparation

This morning, I woke up at 7:00 A.M. but dozed off again. Once I got up, I quickly got ready because Bro. Ruckman needed me to go with him to run a few errands. We went to the church quickly to take care of a few things and then headed over to the grocery store. I will be spending the next three weeks alone. The Ruckmans are flying out tomorrow. They will be going home to attend the funeral of Bro. Ruckman’s grandpa; then, they will spend a couple weeks with family and friends.

While we were at the grocery store, I bought a few things to help sustain my time alone. I am sure the other missionary families will help with a few meals; but in case they do not, I am fully prepared. Once we got back to the house, we got Mrs. Angie; then, we headed back out to do some more shopping. Mrs. Angie has gotten a good stock of stuff for me to eat while they are gone. While we were out, we had lunch, and I got a haircut.

Once we were done, we headed back to the house. When we got home, I went up to my room for a rest.

Mrs. Angie stayed busy preparing things for me for while they are gone. She did not have to do any of it, but it will be greatly appreciated when it comes time for meal planning. After a while, Pastor Dare came for a visit. After he left, we had a few minutes before the man and his wife who own the house that we rent arrived. We were able to have a good visit with this very kind man and his wife. Once they left, Mrs. Angie quickly prepared supper, which was very, very good. While we ate, we watched a few episodes of a tv show and then parted ways for the evening.

I am now in my room typing the blog while I wait for the water heater to get warmed up. Then I will be getting cleaned up and heading to bed for the night.

  1. What another adventure! On your own in
Africa! We will be praying extra! Three weeks is not a very long time, but it seems like a long time to young people. Glad you can hold the home while the Ruckman are gone.
