Adventures with Pastor Kenney

This morning, I woke up at 7:00. Once I got up and got ready, I went downstairs for some breakfast. After breakfast, I got my things ready for the day. Pastor Kenney arrived at the house at 8:30 A.M. Once he had picked me up, we drove over to the storage container to get a box of John and Romans. After we got the John and Romans, we were off to pick up Bro. Arhin and Prince.

We drove to Kojokrom where we picked up Bro. Gyan. Then, we drove to the church site. We did a good bit of driving around, exploring new territory, and scouting for areas to visit. At one point, we drove a mile or so down a bush road, which was pretty cool!!! We drove so deep into the bush that we had our eyes peeled for elephants, monkeys, and lions, Oh My!!! 🙂

Once we got back to the area we wanted to visit, we all got out, loaded up on tracts and John and Romans, and then headed out to do some evangelism. At our first stop, we did not have much success because there were hardly any people in the area. Once we realized that we were not going to do much good in that area, we moved to a different area. This area had more people than the last, but there still were not many. We decided to give it a try and started evangelizing. Bro. Arhin, Prince, and I got the opportunity to speak with two young men, who both accepted Christ as their Savior. After Bro. Arhin had led them to the Lord, I asked them a few questions. Pastor Kenney is going to follow up with them. We were also able to have a pretty good discussion with a lady who joined our conversation with the two young men. I really got excited that I was able to help answer some of her questions.

After talking with this group for two hours, we moved on. We were able to talk to a few people here and there until we got to a group of women who were eager to listen. We did not see any of them get saved, but we pray that the seed we have sown will take root. After we had visited with these ladies for about an hour, we all headed back to the truck. From there, we went into town; Pastor Kenney bought lunch for all of us. The food was good!!!

After our meal, Pastor Kenney and Bro. Gyan needed to go look at a van they are thinking about getting for their church. So instead of having Pastor Kenney take us back to our houses, we stayed at Bro. Gyan’s house and watched soccer while we waited for them to come back. While we waited, I was able to get a good little nap in. After an hour or two, Pastor Kenney and Bro. Gyan came back. Once they got back, those who needed a ride home loaded up in Pastor Kenney’s vehicle. I really enjoyed getting to spend the day out of the house with men from the church!!!

Once I got home, I heated up some of the leftovers from lunch. After supper, I washed up the dishes and tidied up a little bit. Once I had finished cleaning, I had to play doctor with the dog for a few minutes. Koda, the dog, is not feeling too well. We are not quite sure what it is, but I asked Pastor Kenney about it, and he told me what I should do. So I got some charcoal pills and stuffed them inside pieces of hotdog. The dog had not been eating much, but she sure loved the hot dogs. She loved the hotdog pieces so much that she almost took my fingers with them.

Once I had finished doctoring the dog, I went inside to cool down after a long hot day. I am very glad that I had plenty of water because I definitely needed it. I have just finished getting cleaned up for the night, and I am just about to head to bed after a long day.

  1. What a day! We will be praying for the people you talked to. Isn’t the a/c such a comfort after such a hot day. Lots of love.
